Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Money Hive (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.

2. Description of Service

Money Hive is a financial management platform designed for savings groups, SACCOs (Savings and Credit Cooperative Organizations), and investment clubs. The Service allows users to:

  • Track member contributions and savings
  • Record loan entries and repayment logs
  • Record fines and expenses
  • Generate financial reports
  • Process payments via mobile money and card

3. User Accounts

Registration

To use Money Hive, you must be added to a group by an administrator. You can then sign in using your Google account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

Age Requirement

You must be at least 18 years old to use this Service. By using Money Hive, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

4. User Responsibilities

As a user of Money Hive, you agree to:

  • Use the Service only for lawful purposes
  • Not misrepresent your identity or group membership
  • Record accurate financial information
  • Respect the privacy of other group members
  • Not attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or systems
  • Not use the Service to facilitate fraud or illegal activities

5. Group Administration

Group administrators have additional responsibilities and permissions, including:

  • Adding and removing members
  • Recording contributions, loan entries, and fines
  • Confirming loan entries
  • Managing group settings

Administrators are responsible for ensuring accurate record-keeping within their groups. Money Hive is not liable for administrative decisions made by group leaders.

6. Financial Transactions

Payments

Money Hive facilitates payments through third-party payment processors (e.g., Flutterwave). By using payment features, you agree to the terms of service of these payment processors.

Fees

Transaction fees may apply when processing payments. These fees will be clearly displayed before you confirm any payment.

Refunds

Refund policies are determined by individual savings groups and their administrators. Money Hive does not hold funds and cannot process refunds directly.

Financial Disclaimer

Money Hive is a record-keeping and management tool. It does not provide financial advice, act as a bank, or hold deposits. All financial decisions within your group are the responsibility of the group and its members. Money Hive is not liable for any financial losses arising from group activities, loan defaults, or administrative decisions.

7. Subscriptions & Billing

Plans

Money Hive offers subscription plans (Free, Starter, Professional, Enterprise) with varying member limits and features. Plan details and pricing are displayed within the app and may be updated from time to time.

Billing Cycle

Paid subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually as selected). Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through the app. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access to paid features until the period ends. No partial refunds are provided for unused portions of a billing period.

Refund Policy

Subscription payments are non-refundable except where required by applicable law. If you believe a charge was made in error, contact us within 14 days at im.consults.sp@gmail.com.

8. Third-Party Services

Money Hive integrates with the following third-party services to provide its functionality. By using Money Hive, you acknowledge and agree to the terms of these services:

  • Flutterwave — Payment processing for mobile money, card, and bank transfers
  • Supabase — Database hosting, authentication, and real-time data synchronization
  • Brevo — Transactional email delivery (invitations, notifications)
  • Sentry — Error monitoring and crash reporting (no personal data is shared)
  • Google / Apple Sign-In — Authentication via your existing accounts

We are not responsible for the availability, security, or terms of these third-party services. In the event of a third-party service disruption, Money Hive may experience temporary limitations.

9. Data and Privacy

Your use of Money Hive is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in the Privacy Policy.

Data Export

You have the right to export your personal data at any time through the “Download My Data” feature in the app. Exported data is provided in machine-readable JSON format.

Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time. Upon deletion, your personal information (name, email, phone) is permanently removed. Financial records (contributions, loans, fines) are anonymized to preserve group integrity but can no longer be linked to your identity.

10. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its original content, features, and functionality, is owned by Money Hive and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • Defects will be corrected
  • The Service is free of viruses or harmful components
  • The results of using the Service will meet your requirements

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Money Hive shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

  • Loss of profits, data, or goodwill
  • Service interruption
  • Computer damage or system failure
  • Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data
  • Financial losses from group activities, loan defaults, or administrative decisions

Money Hive is a record-keeping tool and does not guarantee the accuracy of financial records entered by users or administrators.

13. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from or related to these Terms or your use of the Service shall first be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be settled through binding arbitration in accordance with the laws of Uganda. The arbitration shall be conducted in Kampala, Uganda.

For disputes between group members regarding financial matters (contributions, loans, fines), resolution is the responsibility of the group and its administrators. Money Hive does not mediate intra-group financial disputes.

14. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Money Hive and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

15. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including breach of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. You may export your data before termination using the data export feature.

16. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes by posting a notice on the Service or sending an email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

17. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of Uganda, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
